Building thermographs

In construction, thermal imaging cameras are powerful, noninvasive tools for monitoring and diagnosing the condition of buildings, and problems can be identified early, allowing them to be documented and corrected before they become more serious and costly to repair.

Thermography in construction is an excellent nondestructive tool for detecting heat loss in buildings. Anomalies in the thermal properties of the components that make up the envelope of a building are manifested by a temperature change on the surfaces of the envelope itself and thus through the distribution of surface temperatures.
